Maryvale is also home to a state of the art major league baseball training stadium and facility. This stadium seats 7,000 people and is the training ballpark for the Milwaukee Brewers. When the team is not training, the public can make use of the area. The core point and the center of the village’s buzzling commerce and leisure is the Desert Sky Marketplace (previously Westridge Mall). Opened in 1981, this is the only regional mall around the southwest valley. Other points of interest around Maryvale are the Desert Diamond Casino, the Desert Sky Pavilion and Desert West Park.
